About Me - Osteopathy in the heart of Kingswood Surrey

julianbatchelerAnyway, enough about treatment, what about me? I’m 43, I am a Kingswood resident, born and brought up in the area. Before becoming an osteopath I was an occupational (business) psychologist. I played rugby in my youth and due to quite serious injury started to see an osteopath. I soon had an ambition to become an osteopath myself, but it was an unregulated, unprotected profession so I went away and did other things, returning to it once it was properly regulated and once I had some more life experience.

Like all osteopaths, I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council, and like a doctor or solicitor, it is a criminal offence to call yourself an osteopath unless you are qualified, registered & insured. Osteopaths are not to be confused with some people who do weekend courses in massage etc, it takes a minimum of four years full time training and many hundreds of clinic hours to get to the point where you are a registered osteopath. All osteopaths also have to pass an enhanced police check.
